The 4th Annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of LI to be Held on March 20th at Farmingdale State College
Seeking Sponsors, Vendors and Volunteers
Following in the tradition of the three previous festivals, the fourth annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of Long Island promises to delight all who attend. Scheduled for Saturday, March 20th at Roosevelt Hall of Farmingdale State College, the event will feature natives of various Asian countries presenting cultural exhibits, live performances, art exhibitions, interactive shows and ceremonies. The festival has been called a visual extravaganza for its colorful costumes and displays, and traditionally attracts more than 3,000 attendants from the Asian and non-Asian communities on Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and beyond.
Co-sponsored by the Suffolk County Executive's Office of Minority Affairs and Farmingdale State College, the Asian-American Cultural Festival of LI is free to attend in the afternoon from 12:30-5:30pm. Children will enjoy the Lion Dance, workshops, craft demonstrations and entertainment such as puppet shows geared especially to them. Adults will appreciate the multicultural performances, fashion show and cultural exhibits from several different regions. Included will be corporate displays and vendor tables, an Asian market, and food sampling. Throughout the afternoon there will periodic drawings for raffle prizes for all ages.
The evening program from 6-9:30 pm will feature a stage performance by noted Asian artists, an awards ceremony, a VIP networking reception with foods of many nations, and a Chinese raffle with an array of elegant prizes donated by local merchants. Tickets for the evening performance are $25 per person and can be purchased by PayPal on the website.
The festival is organized by the nonprofit Asian-American Cultural Circle of Unity. The committee welcomes sponsors, advertisers, participants, vendors and volunteers to become involved. For more information visit the website www.aacfli.org or call 631.543.5768 or 631.754.6640.
